Who We Are
Koffee Review started with one simple idea — there was no honest, consistent, no-nonsense coffee review resource in Australia. Most reviews were vague, influenced by relationships, or just not repeatable.
We are not food critics. We are not influencers. We are coffee drinkers who wanted a system that was fair, consistent and impossible to game. So we built one.
Every review on this site comes from a real visit, paid for out of our own pocket, with the same two drinks ordered every single time.
How We Review
Every café gets the same order — one latte and one double shot espresso. No exceptions. This is how we keep every review fair and directly comparable across hundreds of cafés.
We score based on four things and four things only:
Not the fit out. Not the vibe. Not the music or the furniture or how friendly the staff were. Just what is in the cup.
Scores run from 0 to 10. A 7.5 or above earns the Koffee Review sticker. That is the only way to get it.
We never announce ourselves before a visit. We never tell a café we are reviewing them before, during or after. We order as regular customers, pay the bill and leave.
Payments and Sponsorships
No freebies. No fluff. Just what is in the cup.
We do not accept payment for reviews. We do not accept free coffees, gifted meals or any perks in exchange for coverage or a better score. No café has ever paid to appear on this site, to improve their rating or to be removed from it.
If a café or brand reaches out offering anything in exchange for a review, a mention or a score change, we decline. Every time.
The Score Is the Score
A café cannot pay to change their score. A café cannot pay to be removed from this site. A complaint from an owner is not grounds for a score change.
The only reason a score ever moves is if we revisit a café and the coffee has meaningfully changed — for better or worse. If that happens, we update the score and note the change.
The 7.5 sticker works the same way. A café earns it by scoring 7.5 or above. That is the only path to it.
Opinions Disclaimer
All reviews reflect our personal experience at the time of the visit. Coffee quality can vary depending on the barista, the time of day, the beans being used, and conditions on the day.
Your experience may differ. That is the nature of coffee and the nature of honest reviews. We are not claiming every visit will be the same — we are telling you what we found on the day we visited.
Accuracy of Information
We do our best to keep all information current. Details like pricing, menus, trading hours and ownership can change without notice. If something on our site is factually wrong, let us know and we will fix it promptly.
We take accuracy seriously. A review being negative is not an error. A suburb being listed incorrectly is.
Advertising
There are no ads on this site. There are no affiliate links. We do not earn commission from any café, brand or third party. The site is entirely self funded.
External Links
We link to external platforms including Instagram and Google Maps to help you find cafés and watch our reviews. We are not responsible for the content on those platforms.
Future Partnerships
We do not currently run any paid partnerships, sponsored placements or affiliate arrangements. If that ever changes, it will be clearly disclosed on this page and on any relevant content. A paid arrangement will never influence a score. Ever.
