Who We Are
Koffee Review is an independent Australian coffee review platform operating at koffeereview.com.au. We publish honest café reviews based on a consistent two-drink method. We are not a data business. We are a coffee review platform.
What Information We Collect
We collect minimal information and only when you choose to provide it.
Café submission form — if you suggest a café for us to review, we collect the café name, suburb and city you provide. We do not collect your name or email address unless you choose to include it in your message.
Suggest a café feature — same as above. The café name and suburb you submit goes directly into our review queue. Nothing else is stored.
Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site. This collects anonymised data including pages visited, time on site, device type and general location. We do not have access to personally identifying information through Analytics.
Location data — if you use our Near Me feature, your device location is used only to sort cafés by distance. This data is processed locally on your device and is not stored or transmitted to our servers.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or any personal identifying information unless you voluntarily provide it. We do not sell data. We do not share data with third parties for marketing. We do not run advertising on this site.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies through Google Analytics to track anonymised usage data. These cookies do not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting your ability to use the site.
Third Party Links
Our site links to external platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Google Maps. Once you leave koffeereview.com.au we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those platforms. Please refer to their individual privacy policies for details on how they handle your information.
How Long We Keep Information
Café suggestions submitted through our forms are kept until we have visited and reviewed that café or decided not to include it. We do not retain submission data beyond that point.
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics default settings which you can review in their privacy documentation.
Your Rights
If you have submitted information through our forms and would like it removed, contact us through our Instagram at @koffeereview and we will action your request promptly.
If you are located in Australia, you have rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988. If you have concerns about how we handle your information, you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
Koffee Review is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in how we operate or in applicable law. Any significant changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
